Alaskans Against the Death Penalty is a coalition of individuals and organizations who educate the community and policy makers about the facts and myths of the death penalty. Our members are students, homemakers, police officers, attorneys, clergy, correctional officers, business owners, governmental employees - from all cultural, ethnic, racial, political, religious and economic groups. Territorial Alaska abolished the death penalty in 1957; statehood continued the tradition. We are proud that Alaska is free of the death penalty.
